Okay, so I’ve kinda fallen off the blogging wagon. Here’s an update…and these are just 2025 updates!

1. I finally finished RING OF FIRE. That’s the sequel to SHADES OF GRAY, my werewolf novel. This is book two of the Hochenwalt Files series…and I literally started writing it 20 years ago. I’ve changed a lot as a writer since I started writing this series, so it took some serious effort to go back in and work in a world I haven’t worked in for a while. I’m hearing from the publisher that the release will be “early summer”. No, I have no idea what date yet, but will publicize the date as soon as I can.
2. I released my SECOND short story collection! I cannot believe I have that many short stories out there that I not only have my own short story collection, but I have TWO OF THEM. The first one came out in 2019, DEMONS AND HEROES AND ROBOTS, OH MY! is available here. The second one, that just came out a month or so ago, is available here, and is titled DEMONS AND FAIRIES AND GAMERS, OH MY! (And there’s a sneak peak of the first chapter of RING OF FIRE inside!)
3. I have a short story coming out in June at Origins Game Fair in Columbus (click on the linky thing for details about that convention!) My story, “Walking in a Demon Wonderland” is appearing in an anthology named THE SHADOWED ALCOVE. Very exciting! (For those of you who know me personally, I’ll share here that the home I used as a model for the family home where the holiday dinner is hosted…is my own home!
4. I have another short story, “Satan and S’mores” is slated to come out in another anthology from Outland Entertainment. We’re running a Kickstarter in August, with the projected release in November. The title of this work is LAST APOCALYPSE BEFORE BEDTIME. More details as they come.

PLUS I’m making progress on my current WIP (i.e., Work In Progress for the newbies!) titled DEMON DEADLY SINS. I’d love to turn this into a series, working title GIRL VERSUS DEMON. It’s related to the following of my short stories…so take a look if you’ve seen them and you’ll know the world I’m in…

1. “Help Wanted”
2. “The Dragon Made Me Do It”
3. “Welcome to New York”
4. “Soccer Mom Saves The World”
5. “Demon Busters, Inc.”

PLUS it’s related to the “Satan and S’mores” story and the “Walking in a Demon Wonderland” short story coming out this year. Yeah, I can’t believe I now have 7 short stories all in that world.

That’s a LOT. Most of this has been in the works for a long time, so I can tell you that it isn’t that I’ve suddenly gotten massive amounts of writing done; most of these are long term projects that seem to all be coming together at once.

PLUS I do have writing events upcoming.

I did just attend Buckeye Game Fair. They are attempting to start an author’s track. Lots of good things there; lots of room to grow! It was a fun weekend, but it was definitely a getting your foot in the ground floor kind of event.

I will be at Origins Game Fair this year! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Origins. Linky up above. Yes, I’m bringing the Girl (She is becoming Mommy’s Little Gamer! Yes, we will do some gaming, but that’s our time, after/before the exhibit hall closes, so I’m not sharing that schedule!). Yes, I will have books. My panel schedule so far is as follows;

If I’m not at my table, I’m either lapping the exhibit hall with the Girl, on a panel, taking a restroom break, or getting lunch. I’ll be back shortly; there will be QR Codes in a binder on my table to get you to the electronic versions of my work if you can’t wait!

I’m still working on setting up events for 2025. Everything came together and moved very fast at getting out there. Normally I have a whole event season planned; but this time, I actually turned down events thinking nothing would come out this year….only to get surprised less than a month later.
